One Puff of weed, will I pass?

July 14, 2017 by Roman Jarden

Glass bowl weed

Let’s say your not the typical pot head, you don’t usually smoke weed at all. But one night hanging out with friends, you decide to take one hit.

How long will one hit of marijuana stay in your system?

In most cases, the answer is easy. But because no two people are the same, the out come can vary a bit.

Your sex and body fat percentage plays as big of a role as do the amount and frequency you toke up.

  • Marijuana metabolites are absorbed into fat once used. If you have a high BF%, it will take longer to get rid of THC.
  • Woman tend to retain more water than men. They also generally have a higher body fat percent then men.
  • Men usually maintain the same BF% over a long time. Making it hard to burn off THC containing fat cells
  • Woman’s weight fluctuates more often, a better opportunity to detox naturally

Let’s go over a couple of scenarios, find the one that most closely matches yours.

You never smoked weed before

Great, in this cases, one toke will not stay in your system long at all. Usually, you will be clean within a week.

If your active, have average or low body fat and drink water regularly. It is even possible to be free of THC within 3 to 5 days.

You only smoke once a month

This is when things can get tricky. If you only smoke weed about once a month, chances are you would need at least 30 days to get clean.

Thats a safe estimate, you may be clear of THC-COOH sooner then that.

One hit every couple of weeks?

This is a tough one. This is when you cross the line from, ” I don’t really smoke weed”, to a regular smoker. Once THC is absorbed into your system, it has a tendency to stick around for a long time.

If you are using marijuana frequently enough, the metabolite will not have enough time to be flushed out.

At this point, you are using enough weed to start building up THC-COOH in your body. Even if its only one hit.

Playing it safe, we can assume that it would take over a month to detox your system.

A hit once a week

Now lets assume you only take a hit once a week. No matter what any one tells you, it can take up to 3 months to clear out your system.

One hit a week on a regular bases, your building a substantial amount of THC.

Your Body Loves Cannabinoids

The human body has a natural Endocanabinod system. This means that cannabinoids are recognized by the body as a nutrient.

The body is designed to absorb and you THC as well as all the other cannabinoids in Cannabis. Unlike illicit drugs and alcohol, which act like poison harming organs and liver. THC heals internal organs, this was proven by Hebrew University Medical School in 2005.

THC is a welcomed molecule and thats why its so hard to get rid off.
