This is really a simple question, but depending on who you ask the answers are never the same. That’s why we decided to take some time out and give you a definitive answer to the question:
How Long is One Hit of Weed Detectable?
One more thing, the detection times here are for urine tests only!
The information here, the detection times outlined below only counts with pee tests. So, if you want to know, will a single toke show up in a UA, this is for you. Just so your aware, screenings like the hair follicle drug test are totally different and they suck.
Do You Really Mean One Hit?
OK, before we get started, lets make this clear. When we say One hit, we mean one hit in the last 6-12 months, minimum. So, if your asking this question, but some every now and then. Chances are this information isn’t for you.
Anyone that smokes pot more than one every few months is actually a Casual Marijuana user. Thats a totally different ball game.
Know, If you don’t really smoke to often, but when you do, its usually just a puff of chronic, check out this article.
What Qualifies as a Single Hit?
Hope you are getting the point, but just so we don’t miss lead any one, lets go over it again.
This information should be helpful if you fall into one of this situations:
- You don’t smoke weed at all and tried it once
- You haven’t smoked in over a year and decided to take a hit
- Its been over 6 months since you toked up and decided to try it once more
Anything more than that and your detox times will be totally off, please be honest to your self. Especially if your worried about taking a drug test, because it can take a long time to leave your system and may show up in a drug test.
THC is a very sticky compound. Once you use anything that has THC in it, the molecules stick to fat cell and stay there for as long as they can, no matter the potency!
If your still not clear about this, your chances of passing a drug test are slim to none and slim left… LOl, sorry corny.
Detection Times
Great news, if you’ve only had one hit of weed EVER, chances are you might be able to pass a drug test today!
THC is accumulative and if you don’t smoke weed or use any cannabis derived products. The amount of THC-COOH in your system after just one day is probably below the cutt-off levels!
Even if that one hit got you completely stoned. It doesn’t matter how high you got or the percentage of THC content in the bud. If you don’t smoke weed, that toke should be well on its way out of your system within 24-48 hours. Just drink plenty of water to assist the natural detox process.
Ok, it was more like a couple of hits…
So, now you recall that it might of been more like a couple of tokes. Don’t panic, even if you took a few hits it shouldn’t take more than a week to clear out. Just stay hydrated, maybe try and sweat it out a bit too.
As long as these hits were on the same occasion, meaning same night within an hour. It shouldn’t take more than 5 days to naturally get rid of THC, or at least drop below detection levels.
An Edible, but only once ever!
Alright, know your pushing it!, Even thought having an edible kind of counts as “One Hit“. The way it metabolizes in your body is completely different.
Smoking pot is an instant high with a short half life. But eating an edible, triggers a different type of metabolically response. Taking longer to have an effect, the duration of the high is longer and the time it takes to naturally detox is a lot longer.
If you’ve had an edible, even if it wasn’t potent, THC maybe detectable for about a month or so. Play it smart, drink a lot of water, exercise a bit and maybe even get a detox if your going to be screened.
