Upass has been creating and updating their synthetic urine product for a long time now. Refining and updating the formula for years. At the time of this article the most current version is Upass 8. So lets get into an overview of this product, how we used it and if it worked for us and others.
- How to use Upass
- Rate of failure
- Our tests results
- So does Upass work? (LabCorp / Quest Diagnostic)
- Tips to Defeat Lab Screening
- Recommended place to buy
Instead of just jumping into lab testing, we like to go through a simple checklist. If it doesn’t meet the simplest of standards, paying for a lab test would just be a waste of money.
- Color- Pass: Unopened, Upass kept its color. Once opened and left out, it took about a week for the color to darken
- pH – Pass: Normal urine pH should be in the range of 6 to 7.5, Upass had a pH 7 which is about perfect.
- Ingredients – ??: No information provided so we couldn’t get a profile for this product. Using what we had available, test strips, We are able to at least verify that Upass has Uric acid and creatine.
Notes: Even though test strips can test for the presence of Uric acid, they are not totally reliable. Lab equipment can check levels and having too much or too little uric acid will trigger tampering. So keep that in mind.
How to use Upass
You can usually get Upass near you by visiting a local smoke shop. Otherwise, Amazon, Ebay or any other online retailer should have it.
All synthetic urines usually follow the same set of directions. That is with the exception of powdered urine, which you need to add water to. The basic directions are like so.
- Pre heat in micro wave
- Attach heating pad to maintain temperature
- Carry close and tight to body to help maintain temps
- Supply to lab
With the exception of a few products its simple as that. You can purchase Upass with or without a hand-warming pad. I would suggest getting the one with the heat pad included. It’s makes the whole process simpler.
Rate of failure
When ever you use substitute urine or a detox drink, there is a risk for failure. The only fool proof way to pass is by staying clean for at least 3 months before taking a drug test. That being said, lets go over the risks involved with synthetic pee.
When used right way the rate of failure with Upass is moderate
One of the biggest problems with synthetic urine is temperature. UA labs use a temp strip to get immediate results. If your sample is too cold or hot, its an instant fail. This saves them time and money and lowers the average cost of testing. Check the temps before they do.
Fresh urine should be within 90°F to 100°F degrees!
Our tests results
Urine can be tested in 3 ways: test strips, Icups and/or by lab.
Strips are the very cheapest method of drug testing out with Icups costing an average of $3 more per test. We purchased 5 panel test strips at bulk for pennies, the Icups at bulk cost about 80 cents per. So we have no problem repeating tests and getting an average if the results are a little wacky.
- Icup: Passed. tested twice same result
- Strips: Passed. 4 strips same result
- Lab: Fail, the facility used: LabCorp
Note: LabCorp is very quick to use their Urine Specific Gravity Test. The urine temperature was spot on, so we don’t know why they decided to do the additional tests. In most cases, gravity is only tested if the urine sample triggers a false positive.
So does Upass work?
For the most part, Upass works and is fairly reliable, but…
Yes, you will pass test strips and Icups but might not pass a lab screening. The problem with Upass and all synthetic urines in general Lab testing producers. Although you can do everything right, you can never tell what the lab tech will do.
From our surveys, we have discovered an issue with a few testing centers, LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics for example.
LabCorp and Quest Diagnostic
Although Upass synthetic urine has all the required ingredients, about 30% to 45% still fail, Here is why!
- Stale or expired synthetic urine
- Short shelf life
- Exposure to light and heat
- Over heating or reheating
Because of these issue and an a few more, we decided to create a short list of guide lines you can follow.
Even though these tips may increase your chances of passing, remember nothing is really 100%.
Tips to Defeat Lab Screening
Want to buy Upass from a shop near you?
Chances are that shop has had that same bottle on its shelf for a year or more.
This means the ingredients have had time to separate, expire or decompose. Although this is generally considered to be a synthetic product uric acid has a short shelf life.
Uric acid is oxidizes into allantoine and hydrogen peroxide (2H2O2)
If interested, you can find out more about this process by reading this PDF.
Once open use it, or lose it!
If you are not planning to use it with in 48 hours, do not open the bottle or even the box! Uric acid rapidly start to deteriorate once exposed to oxygen and/or light.
More information about this provided in the PDF above.
Do not heat more than once
Use the heat pads provided, along with placement to maintain the right temperature.
Although its not strictly prohibited by the manufacturer, reheating can and will degrade the ingredients.
Simple enough right?
When you pick up a bottle, you may notice a bit of settling. This tends to happen if the bottle has been sitting around for a while.
Before heating, its important to shake until its completely dissolved into a uniform semi clear, yellow liquid.
Our lab results may have been different if we had used another lab, tested at a different time. It’s impossible to say what triggered the technicians suspicions.
Hey, let us know what you think and if you have tried Upass before!
